MiniMonday: Mickeys Creations

The great thing about the beautiful bags and purses for sale in Mickeys Creations is that most of her items are custom made to your request. Just pick out your fabric color, and this crafty gal and Steve (that would be her Singer sewing machine) will sew you a bag that is exactly what you are looking for!

Here's a great example of her work! She lets you design your own modern Megan Pleated Corduroy bag, simply tell her which corduroy fabric you'd like and you can also pick from a variety of fabric linings!

If you would prefer to purchase something already made, this modern yet retro design is adorable. Perhaps the Modern Megan Messenger in Retro Red Floral would be for you!

All items are made in a pet-free and smoke-free home. These would make great gifts for yourself, a friend, mom, sister, or daughter. A mom of young children, a student, or anyone that has a lot of stuff to lug around would appreciate these stylish, handmade bags!

MiniMonday: Cut Your Heart Out

The EtsyBloggers Team Mini-Monday line-up couldn't have timed out any better for Jessica, owner of CutYourHeartOut, with Valentine's Day quickly approaching!

Her self-proclaimed wickedly sweet designs are made with love, like this My Heart is Rubber and You Are Glue Necklace. The title says it all, and wouldn't you love to own this piece on Valentine's Day!

Jessica is a wife, mother, and therapist in New Jersey. A very interesting and creative woman, with an interest in the quirky, creepy, and slightly offbeat things in life, such as tattoos, loud music, creative arts, and psychology. She says that not just one particular thing that inspires her work, but her inspiration can come from several different things such as her mood that day, a person, a television show, a story, a piece of art she's seen...

I literally laughed out loud at her answer to my question of how she came up with her shop name. She said, "It was an old screen name that evolved from my non-committal dating days. My friends used to always say that I would cut boys hearts out and stomp on them."

Her designs are nothing she couldn't afford or wear herself! Each item she sells features a quote or poem in the description. You can tell she puts a lot of thought and love into her work.

Look for her second Etsy shop in the works called Mox.ie and Mis.chief (MoxieAndMischief) for children's clothing and accessories.

Fan her on Facebook and get entered into her monthly drawings.

MINI MONDAY: "Magdalene Jewels"

Magdalene Jewels is today's Mini Monday featured Etsy Blogger Artisan

Pam, the person behind "MagdaleneJewels”, is also known as Mags, MJ or Magdalene. Otherwise known as Pam, she has been single for many years, and raised 3 children, Kelly, Keith and Ryan; and as of last month became a grandmother for the first time!

She seems to have always had a creative nature within, starting with embroidering, crocheting, knitting, and quilting. Mags began designing jewelry about three years ago, and joined Etsy a little over 2 years ago. Her jewelry shop: http://www.MagdaleneJewels.etsy.com contains necklaces, bracelets and earrings mainly using Swarovski Crystals in her own creative designs. As she says, “I love the various reflections the crystals give off when gleaming in the sun”.

Besides selling on Etsy, Pam also does a lot of custom orders and craft shows - and just recently opened up a new shop on Etsy: http://www.MagdaleneKnits.etsy.com. Her new shop is a combination of knitted and crocheted items such as adorable baby booties and sweaters, scarfs, and neckwarmers.

Besides crafting, MJ’s main passion is her writing. She has always loved to write, and is very passionate about what she does write about. You can read some of her blogs at http://www.MagdaleneJewelspjk.blogspot.com and http://www.MagdaleneJewelsblogs.blogspot.com.

A little word of wisdom from Magdalene, which is so much of her personality: “the smile you send out, always returns”.

This Week's Mini

This should have been done on Monday but I got a bit delayed and distracted this week. I am going to introduce to you a very busy member of our EtsyBlogger team. This member has not one but two shops and always finds the time to chat with others on our forum threads.

You can get to know Linda through her profile page which says-
Breast Cancer Survivor and grandmother of 23+ grandchildren. I like to stay busy and use various mediums for creativity. I like fabrics and like to quilt. I am not a purest quilter, but like color and whatever hits my fancy! I like beads and paper, even paper bag art! I love to create jewelry and occasionally dolls for my grandchildren. I create household items for my daughters and daughter-in-laws! And for you! Check back often and see what new thing I am creating!
Take a peek at her shops to see what she has created lately.

The lovely spirit of this person becomes very evident if you take a few moments to read her blog. Better yet become a follower of it so you are always up to date on what is new in Linda's shops and life.

Mini Monday for Memories for Life Scrapbooks

It seems fitting somehow that our Blogger of the Month for August is being featured today on our mini Monday post. I will let Edi introduce herself through the profile in her Etsy shop.
Hello everyone!
My name is Edi and I have been paper crafting for over 12 years. I started out making hand made cards with stamps. I then moved into scrapbooking. I love anything to do with paper and can make just about anything with it. I work as a machine operator at a semi transmission factory for a living while I get my MBA, but I paper craft for life. It truly is my passion!

Take a look for yourself. The passion shows in every piece!

Of course there is a blog where you can stop by and say hello and I encourage you to do so. Let her know that the EtsyBloggers sent you!

It's Monday!

Whine and grumble all you want about Monday but this is a special day here on the EtsyBloggers Street Team blog. This is the day each week that we share with everyone one of our team members. We use their own words from their Etsy profile page and shop minis because we all know that pictures tell the real stories.

Today you are meeting Melissa Meman who has two shops on Etsy.

Welcome to Melissa Meman Designs! My "handmade" journey began many years ago in a small southern town. I am the youngest of five children and we grew up with our mother making most of our clothes (and many other things) by hand. Our father was a house-painter, but also a farmer and we lived off the land as much as possible. My sisters and I have always been involved in some craft or project for as long as I remember...I think my first endeavor was crocheting which I still love! Currently, I live in Maryland with my husband and son. My mission is to create jewelry designs with a unique, eclectic flair. I mostly work with "one-of-a-kind" designs, but am working on a few "limited edition" pieces, and love custom work. I am always trying to incorporate new techniques into my designs. I utilize a mix of materials - gemstones, artisan-made glass beads (lampwork), precious metal findings and wire (sterling, Balinese, Thai Hill Tribe and Indian silver; bronze; gold-filled; and gold-vermeil), freshwater pearls, coral and other organics, Austrian crystals, Czech and German glass...the list goes on! Most of my designs are created with a "wrapped" link technique, usually utilizing sterling silver, gold-filled or bronze wire. I absolutely love this style, not only for its beauty and versatility, but also for its strength and durability. I occasionally utilize a strung method with beading wire and sterling or gold-filled crimps. I have been making rosaries for about 3-4 years now and strive to the same high standards as with my jewelry pieces. It is my hope that they will become your cherished heirlooms. My rosaries incorporate wrapped links with sterling or bronze wire, and as such, are much more durable than traditional single-loop rosaries.

I encourage you to take a moment today to browse these lovely shops. You can also visit Melissa's blog, say hello, leave a comment and let her know the EtsyBloggers sent you.

Linda B's Mini Monday

Hi, my name is Linda and I'm passionate about beads and beading. I've been doing it for about 4-5 years now. I work full-time and find beading to be relaxing. My bead collection is expanding and it's so fun to bring them out and choose what I'm going to make next.

My husband and cats don't mind, except when it's dinner time for the cats. One cat, Buddy, likes to help me bead and list items on the computer too.

I'm excited to be a part of the EtsyBead Team, the EtsyTwitter Team, the EtsyBlogger team and the EtsyChai Team.

Of course this very busy, passionate beaded designer has a blog. I am sure she would love you to stop by and say hello. When you do let her know that Cozy and the EtsyBloggers sent you.

Elayne does all the computer stuff so please, don't blame Roz.

So goes the introduction to the shop ChezChani. I would say that they both do a great job, one on the glass work and the other on the web presense. This team has a lot of creativity in it and it shows. Take a look at the shop items below to see what I mean.

Sumiko Shop Mini Monday

Hello and welcome to Sumiko shop at etsy...

My name is Evelyn, I’m 28 years old and the mother of a beautiful boy named Brian. I live in a tourist town by sea, in Italy. I spend a lot of time with my son, which is why I can spare the time to create and experiment with new things.
I am crazy about travelling and would gladly travel around the world. I love adventure and unspoiled places…. white beaches …the sun ... my dream would be to live somewhere warm all year round.

I have always had a passion for sewing clothes for myself, but I also loved unique and original accessories, and I found such joy in creating them, or seeing people wear such.
After I became a mother, I used my free time to create jewellery and accessories for myself and my friends. That was also about the time that I discovered Etsy and the world of eShops.

You ask me why an Italian girl, called Sumiko her shop?
I have a passion for Japan and the East in general, I like foreign names, I can not call my son Sumiko, so I called my shop.
I do jewelry, hair accessories, pins and much more ...
I decided to open my store at etsy, so i can sell my creations worldwide.
I love life, beautiful things, colours, and I love laughter. I would love to convey all of these through my creations.
I hope you will like my cute shop!

Mini Monday for Storybeader

Newly returned from a trip to Ireland we are featuring the shop of Deb who is known to all the EtsyBloggers as Storybeader. My favorites of her creations are the treasure necklaces. Together with beads and charms each piece tells a story. Each stunning necklace also comes with a poem specifically inspired by the work.

The haiku for the necklace below is -
She walked through the door
With the bright star reflecting
In her deep blue eyes.
- storybeader

To travel with this jewelry artist on her recent journey to Ireland keep an eye on her blog. To find out what treasure is waiting for you in her shop take a look below and don't be afraid to click because clicking on any item will take you to her shop and we know you want to look!

Mini Monday for Betani's Bureau

If you go to the website of fellow etsyblogger Elise of Betani's Bureau you are greeted with a header that explains the person in her own words better that I certainly could. It says " One girl, a thousand interests, unlimited curiosity, and a singular desire to be helpful." Sounds just like the type of person you want to get to know better and you can at Betani's Bureau.com. You can also take a stroll through her shop and see what all those interests lead to.

BunnyKissd Mini Monday

I am a 30-something graphic artist, scrapper, crafter, writer, sometimes disguised as a substitute teacher, trying to figure out how to reconcile my passions with making a living. I live in the country with my partner and our four still-at-home, unschooled kids, three cats, and a Guinea pig.

Above is the profile quoted from the shop BunnyKissd on Etsy. A charming blend of beads, jewelry and paper. Look below to find the magic for yourself!

As always I encourage you to stop by the BunnyKissd blog to learn more about this artisan and her life. Leave a comment and tell her the EtsyBloggers and Cozy sent you.

Mini Monday for We are Wedges

Cheese is good and stuffed toys are good right? Let the shop owner of We are Wedges tell you more about this in her Etsy profile-
THE STORY OF WEDGES

Wedges are called wedges because they are wedge shaped…like cheese.

There are person wedges and animal wedges. Some of the animal wedges are more devious than others.

Wedges like to live in silos, but more than anything, they enjoy going on adventures together.

Wedges are handmade and created with love by Benita Hsueh in her Toronto, Canada based studio.

Well…Will Baker also helps, but he is a boy.

Some of Benita’s favourite things are:
- Squares
- Circles
- Various combinations of squares and circles
- Cheese
- Plush Toys

Thus, it is only logical to combine these things, and while eating a wedge of cheese one night, the Wedges concept was born. After all, cheese is good, and cheese is wedge shaped. Plush toys are also good, so why not?*

That’s our story. THE END. OK. BYE!

* Please note that, unlike cheese, wedges should not be eaten. That would be wedgicide. Or wedgibalism?

So remember when you order yours, don't eat it!
