October 27, 2008 etsyBlogger Mini Monday

This is your etsyBloggers Honorary Week!

This talented Artisan is a part-time SAHM with a young daughter. She was born and raised in western Maryland and educated in northern Indiana, I now live with my husband and lovely little girl in Buckinghamshire, England.

What influences her jewelry?
Fantastical stories in particular. My shelves are crammed with lush, illustrated faerie tales and sweeping epic trilogies like Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials , Lord of the Rings , and Garth Nix's The Old Kingdom . It's the love of stories such as this that drove me to want to adorn myself with them. To make jewelry as potent and sumptuous as the stories that inspire me.

I use real gemstones in all of my work except where otherwise stated. I believe real gems have a significant weight, feel and lustre to them that glass does not. Any piece of jewelry can be fitted with stones other than the ones pictured!

Extraordinary artist, using only quality materials and skilled craftmanship, all items in her shop come with a 1 year warranty covering the body of the piece. (excluding chains)

Mini Monday Celebration of Rose Works Jewelry

The woman behind the shop Rose Works Jewelry introduces herself to us in her Etsy Profile-
Hi! My name is Ruthie and I have been creating jewelry, for fun, since I was a freshmen in High School. Over the years I've mostly made projects for my family and friends, including all the jewelry for my wedding in 2007, but I've had people telling me for a long time that I should sell my work. So here I am!

I work with a variety of styles so I hope you can find something that you like. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions! I am a full time college student and I check my e-mail frequently.

If you want to learn more about my creative process and who I am, check out my blog at:

This beautiful bracelet is just a small part of the creativity that flows from the hands of this talented jewelry maker. Look at the Etsy Mini below to see the latest offerings in the shop. Clicking on any item will take you to Rose Works Jewelry where you can see more items, find out her latest sale information and of course I encourage you to purchase something. After all you deserve it, right?

Etsy Bloggers Oct. 13 Blog Carnival

The October 13 edition of the Etsy Bloggers Blog Carnival has been posted. You can read it at Joey & Aleethea's blog.
We had a record breaking 60 submissions for the carnival. The topics to write about were "Work" or "Relax". Check out what our members had to say. It's a guaranteed good read.

Our next blog carnival is October 27th and our host is A Keeper's Jackpot

Theme 1) Spooky:
Tell a spooky story, real or made up. Or present a Halloween crafting project or something in your shop that will give us the creeps :)

Theme 2) Recipes!
It's never too early to plan your holiday dinners. Share a recipe for something that we can share with our loved ones. If you have pictures, that's great too!

Mini Monday - Lazy T Crochet

Welcome to today's Mini Monday featuring Lazy T Crochet. Her love of crocheting is shown in the wide range of items in her shop. You can find wraps, scarves, hats, wrist warmers, bags and more. Starting with a hook and yarn or strips of fabric beautiful things emerge from hands skilled in an ages old craft that builds an item one stitch at a time.

From the heartland of the United States this Etsy shop owner shares her life in a blog. As she explains in the tag line of her blog the writing there explores knitting, crocheting, recipes and more.

Stop by the shop or the blog to say hello to this much admired member of the EtsyBloggers Team to say hello. You will be glad you did.
