As one who worked for a few years in a Miniature Shop, I am especially excited to be showcasing Athena’s shop: http://AthenaWorkman.etsy.com. I well know the talents of being a Miniature artist, where one recreates pieces in ½” scale to be used in Dollhouses. What most people don’t realize is these Dollhouses with their precisely created miniatures, whether they are scaled down furniture or little pieces of cake, fruit, flowers, etc. created using polymer clay, are not for children. These Miniature works of art are keepsakes for decorating “Collector” Dollhouses.
Athena’s tiny little works of art are perfectly designed right down to the tiny roses on this Wedding Cake from her shop. It was hard to choose which pieces to choose to showcase here, but another favorite are her real like “Christmas Cookies”.
It is hard to believe that Athena just started these miniature creations from polymer clay just 2 years ago. Living in Nashville with her husband, dogs, and cats, and two grown daughters, she is currently focusing on making Miniature Southern food for one’s Dollhouse collection. Athena’s shop is not only a showcase of ½” scaled down foods’; one can also find pieces of jewelry designed from her own miniatures. The “Ice Cream Cone” earrings would be perfect for a little girl; while another piece, her “Pendant” with miniature foods would be perfect to attached to a chain or cording.
